Hannah, the red-haired daughter of the prominent and wealthy insurance man Nathan Brockway of Prairie Dog City, was going to marry doctor Sam Martin. However, Hannah has met Ben, the youngest son of outlaw captain Kirk Dembrow, and falls in love with him. Not wanting to live the same life as his father and his two brothers Frank and Cash, Ben takes a different last name and marries Hannah. The suspicious residents of Prairie Dog discover Ben's true identity and accuse him of a murder he didn't commit. Ben's family frees him and the disillusioned Ben also becomes an outlaw. Then Hannah turns out to be pregnant and she seeks support from Sam, who takes her back to Prairie Dog, where she gives birth. When Ben kidnaps the baby, a showdown between Sam and Ben seems inevitable.
