Soul Power plot
"The greatest music festival that you have never seen."
The music festival 'Zaire '74' brought together a unique group of soul and R&B artists from America, such as James Brown, Bill Withers and BB King, as well as some African musicians such as Miriam Makeba and Afrisa. The festival in Kinshasa was held together with the no less legendary fight between Foreman and Muhammad Ali, the 'Rumble in the Jungle'. For almost all African Americans it was their first visit to Africa, the 'Motherland' of which they had rather naive and idealistic ideas beforehand. However, the hard life on the streets of Kinshasa and the hard hand of dictator Mobutu soon makes them change their mind.
