The beginning was decent indeed, but after that this movie got crazier and crazier , the slow motions during the fight scenes got a bit monotonous, bad acting, the special effects were already bad. that minotaur was just as bad as the minotaur's . And how they got into the underworld with that piece of rock made no sense either.

The part with the goddess was annoying and the ending was completely bad, that scorpion looked nothing like

I don't understand the criticisms. I watched the movie without any problems and had a lot of fun with it. On two counts I agree and that is that this film is less good than the first and that I also prefer to see Dwayne Johnson on screen. Other critiques, especially those related to the special effects, I think are nonsense. Haters must really have something to complain about. Some of the effects are obviously coming out of a computer, but for a 2008 movie on a shoestring budget, it looks pretty decent. Certainly the forest transformation scene even looks very neat.

What I actually struggled with was the connection with the first film. I only found out later that it was not a sequel, but a prequel. I couldn't make connections. It all seemed more like a film in the vein of Minotaur (another underrated fantasy film). I thought it was comical that five minutes later the minotaur really made its appearance.

What remains is a very entertaining fantasy adventure with historical elements. Anyone expecting a historically correct story is clearly wrong here. Nor is there any mention of originality. Michael Copon portrays the young Mathayus in a very nice way. Randy Couture doesn't do as bad as a bad guy. As in the previous film, the story takes us through mythical locations. This time no Sodom and Gomorrah, but under the labyrinth of the Minotaur on Crete. The story is pretty fun in its design. There is some nice action here and there. There is more than enough variety. The confrontations with ordinary people and gods are not bad at all and are reminiscent of classic fantasy and historical adventure films. It's not a top movie, but with a good cast like this it's nice to see.

A prequel to a spin-off of a sequel, that's roughly where this 'Ride of a Warrior' is situated. No more Dwayne Johnson this time, and his replacement was a little less cast. The rest was also slightly less than 'The Scorpion King', which in itself was not a fantastic film. The images and setting were beautiful, the story adventurous and even some special effects stood out. Others, oddly enough, were a lot less. In the end, the film also lasted a little too long, which made the lack of quality more noticeable.
