Gangster boss Frank Morgan devises a risky plan; a robbery on a money transport in the south of France. He hires four villains for this, after they have proven that they can successfully complete a cold-blooded robbery at a casino. The robbery on the money transport also goes well, until they want to open the safe and that doesn't work.

Very strong European co-production, which can compete with the better American heist noirs.

A group of men and a woman decide to rob $1,000,000 from an armored car. But as expected, not everything goes according to plan.

Hard, cool and very stylish, with a fantastic soundtrack by Claude Bolling!

Not crazy, nice starting point, but I think that Melville and others made this much stronger later on. Also of course thanks to a series of more convincing actors. Also the necessary improbabilities (transporting an armored car in a caravan, a completely unaccompanied transport of valuables?).
