Little Man, What Now? plot

"Any man who has ever lost his job, or any young wife who has bravely tried to comfort him will thrill to the tenderness, the courage, the gay humor of this idyl of young love which all the brutal cruelty of those bitter times could not destroy!"

When Emma 'Lammchen' Pinneberg discovers she is pregnant, she marries her fiancé Hans. They keep their marriage a secret for fear that Hans will be fired by his tyrannical boss. He wants to link his marriageable daughter to Hans. When his boss finds out that he is married, Hans is still fired. This begins a difficult struggle for survival for the two, who are forced to live with Hans' stepmother.
