An ordinary couple (Isla Fisher and Zach Galifianakis) struggle to get to know their new, popular neighbors. They begin to see suspicious behavior and decide to spy on the couple. They learn that Mr. and Mrs. Jones are leading a double life as secret government agents.

Mediocre film in which a couple suspect their new neighbors of being spies. This action comedy has a clichéd plot with clichéd characters. The cast is certainly nice on paper, but doesn't know how to make it much better. During the second half it slowly gets a bit more entertaining.

The lives of middle-class couple Jeff [Zach Galifianakis] and Karen Gaffney [Isla Fisher] are turned upside down when they meet their new neighbors Tim [Jon Hamm] and Natalie Jones [Gal Gadot]. By chance, the Gaffneys discover that the Joneses are in fact globetrotting, secret agents hoping to hide in a sleepy suburb. But because of their "friendship" with the Joneses, the Gaffneys themselves become targets of the infamous Scorpion [Patton Oswalt]. A simple plot as a stepping stone for a series of smooth action scenes and a large amount of slapstick scenes. Mealy and superficial, but the four protagonists deliver excellent work so that it is never boring and there is more than enough to laugh about.
