Munekata Kyôdai plot
Setsuko is unhappily married to Mimura, a machine builder with no job and a bad drinking habit. She has always been in love with Hiroshi, but neither of them were able to propose to each other because Hiroshi left for France a few years back. Now Hiroshi is back and Mariko, Setsuko's sister, tries to reunite Setsuko and Hiroshi. However, she too is secretly in love with Hiroshi.
