Action-packed western and the action is also quite diverse. The usual western ingredients are also filled in originally. With a gang that gives the victims a picnic, including champagne.
Scott in a good role as an engineer, in my opinion one of his better ones.
The ending is standard, but the road to it was enjoyable.

Was almost immediately drawn into this film, which was smoothly directed from start to finish

western. There is some good fighting, nice (1 on 1) shooting scenes, a blonde beauty

also demands the necessary attention, and there is a sneaky main villain who thwarts and

eager to enrich himself. Seldom have we seen Randolph Scott act so fresh. One of his best

I find roles from the numerous westerns he has played in.

Slightly driven ("spurred on" might be a better fit given the genre) by fellow MM user klara and his enthusiasm, I put "Carson City" in the DVD player again after a long time.

I must say that it was a very nice renewed acquaintance with this excellent western.

Scott was still in his "lively mode" before choosing to change course and go grim.

He does it well, just like the grim, stoic Randolph Scott version.

The man was more versatile than some people think, but I've mentioned that before.

In his early Western period, they tried to give him an Errol Flynn image, complete with moustache, rogue-like appearance, and a fair amount of humor.

You could almost swear that Flynn is seen in some of the stills from that era instead of "Big Randy".

That soon diminished, and he evolved into the style we see here, although the fun-loving spirit in his eyes is never far away.

The story can be called quite original, and remains interesting and progresses smoothly.

The rest of the cast also does a great job.

I only know Lucille Norman from this film, and she is a very pleasant character.

Her film career was unfortunately short.

The saloon fistfight is one of the better ones, and there was little use of a double for Randy.

Worth 4* for me.
