Poor and pregnant Helen Ferguson has been abandoned by her boyfriend Steve Morley. She assumes the identity of pregnant Patrice Harkness, who was killed in a train accident. Patrice Harness's in-laws did not know her and Helen and her baby are taken into the family. Helen's ex-boyfriend Steve finds out about her deception and starts blackmailing Helen.

Good film in which a pregnant woman pretends to be another pregnant woman after a train accident. An original story with enough happening, but with some coincidences. Drama and thriller merge smoothly here. In that capacity, Barbara Stanwyck plays a fine role here. The remake has removed the thriller element.

I agree with the little report from Biosguru above, a mix between noir and romantic drama

very well executed with beautiful camera work and a very beautifully playing Barbara stanwyck.

She has quickly become one of my favorite actresses and I and the movies I've seen of her have been all good to very good.
