The young heiress to a large fortune, Miss Blandish, is kidnapped by a gang of petty thieves, only to be kidnapped again by Slim Grissom, a mobster. He, and the rest of the Grissom gang, are not interested in the ransom. Despite the situation she finds herself in, Miss Blandish is attracted to Slim Grissom. They decide to run away together, but the other gang members don't like it!

The American crime films/noirs of the 1940s were so popular that similar films were made in other countries, including Great Britain.
The problem is that, in addition to the setting, the language has also been Americanized. This doesn't quite work at first, but as the film progresses, you notice less and less that a couple of Brits are trying to speak like Americans, and you simply see the characters as characters!
No Orchids is a fairly violent crime film, with a fair amount of shooting. This extra violence enhances the film's overall impact.
The acting is mediocre to good, with Jack La Rue trying really hard to imitate Bogart.
