Georgia Nicholson is overcoming the trauma of being a teenager. Not understood by her parents, but captured by the friendship with her friends, "The Ace Gang" Georgia struggles through life. When two handsome brothers Tom and Robbie arrive at school, Georgia thinks her boyfriend's dream has come true. Unfortunately, Robbie is already dating her arch-rival Lindsay. In Australia, a thong is also a slipper, rather than a flip-flop like it is in the rest of the world. So if you first speak Australians and then other backpackers and didn't know that word yet...
Well, this is a nice video. I've never been a teenage girl myself, so I can't say to what extent this is all real and recognizable, but it all feels quite authentic, helped anyway by the excellent voice-over that makes you think in the head of a breezah to sit. In any case, this is more a collection of sketches in chronological order than a real running story. Lots of small and especially short scenes that give insight into the lives of young girls today, and then also with a cute British accent.
Furthermore, well filmed with nice music and beautiful image compositions with colors that appear everywhere and tight horizontal and especially vertical lines that make every shot worth watching. In any case, if you see how overcrowded - almost kitschy - the mise-en-scene is, you can take a look at that. In addition, now and then a nice moving camera and one very nice tracking shot.
Nevertheless, the film does take a bit too long, the game is mediocre across the board, it is not surprising, a number of scenes are less in quality and the ending is just a bit too sweet for me. All in all, a well deserved 3.0*.

Just a fun movie to watch. No in-depth analysis about the director's problems etc. 
but an entertaining and above all youthful film. Why wouldn't you want to look at it?

Endearing little girls in a simple but very entertaining story about growing Georgia and her friends. With the usual set of motives of insecurity, appearance and boyfriends - which you would like to explain that it is actually not that important at all and that everything will work out on its own, but where everyone has to come out for themselves. The lead role of Georgia Groome is especially nice - whether she plays that or not, once it's time for her perfect snog you can actually see her floating away. Very cute. And then there's the cat Angus.
