Il Gesto delle Mani plot

This documentary follows the making process of one of Velasco Vitali's famous sculptures of dogs, at the Fonderia Artistica Battaglia (Battaglia Artistic Bronze Foundry) in Milan. The craftsmanship in making a bronze sculpture stems from an age-old tradition, a process that has remained unchanged for over 5000 years. Hand Gestures observes the work of the artisans at Fonderia Artistica Battaglia, where past and present converge. Different stages in the making process are interspersed with historical images of the bronze foundry; together they expose a tradition and continuity that spans decades.
