Ernest Saves Christmas plot

"A Holiday Comedy Unlike Any Other!"

Ernest Worrel, a taxi driver from Orlando, picks up a nice old man at the airport who reminds him a lot of Santa Claus. It also proves effective to go to Santa Claus! He is in fact looking for a successor, because after a career spanning a century, he is now eagerly looking forward to his retirement. However, if Santa does not find a successor, it means the end of the Christmas party.

Some call this one of Ernest's better films. Well, there are hardly any worse film series. Ernest's combination with Christmas is just deadly. I'm not a fan of the corny Christmas movies from America with a lot of 'ho ho ho' and reindeer humour. Ernest Saves Christmas... Who saves us?

Why a movie like this is on the Flop list is not so surprising. Ernest P. Worrel, along with that annoying kid from Problem Child, must be one of the most annoying characters that ever existed.

A lot of happy stuff in this movie and an extremely annoying Ernest, whose attempts at humor all fail without exception, rightly make this one of the worst movies of all time.

Respect for the people who like this.

0.5*

How I've watched Ernest trailers on television all my childhood, but never seen one from start to finish!? The main gimmick is Jim Varney staring into the camera with his plastic face, always with the same slightly panicked or agitated look. Somehow, the funniest thing is that Varney—despite his iconic redneck chatterbox—turned out to actually be a talented Shakespearean actor. 'Ernest Saves Christmas' (1988) is just the wrong Christmas movie I need after a mandatory Christmas Eve with family. If only for the many jokes surrounding Santa Claus's magical bag.
