Let's be clear: this is a bad movie. But he doesn't deserve such a high place in the flop 100.

Ernest's role is questionable. Should I laugh or cry about it? His idiotic behavior gets boring quickly. What bothered me the most is that he was constantly breaking the wall between him and the audience by either talking out loud to himself or looking directly into the camera.

Bland humor like standing on a ladder falling backwards is seen here as a fantastic joke. However, I laughed little, howled and howled. Situations like that little white cart that keeps moving on and on just become annoying in the long run.

There are also a lot of ridiculous scenes in it. Especially at the end. Turtles on parachutes? An exploding toilet? Bizarre.

Also, apparently the only way to save their camp was to blow it up completely. What the role of that crazy cook was in this is still a mystery to me. Staining clothes by shooting crushed food on them may be an ancient Native American war technique.

All in all, this isn't exactly a masterpiece. Rather an acceptable mistake. It's a shame it was so run down after that.

I used to know someone who had a soft spot for these kinds of films. He also liked the series around Revenge of the Nerds. Which probably says enough. Visually oriented humor where story no longer matters. Only that humor does not work and it even gets on the nerves in the long run. After having seen several films by Ernest, I already get the creeps when I see the word 'Ernest' in the title...

Together with Ernest Saves Christmas, this film is one of the two films I've seen by Ernest and although you can never say for sure, I expect it to stay that way.

Just like the Christmas movie, this part has one major irritation point, and that is Ernest himself. Also in this film his role and behavior is at a certain point just too stupid for words, without it even wanting to be funny in the slightest. It's unbelievable that they made so many parts of this. Apparently it somehow resonated with certain people.

Once again I'm handing out the lowest possible score imaginable to an Ernest movie.
