Just watched this on German DVD in Italian with English subs.

The film starts strongly in the desert, in which we see two men walking quite a distance from each other, who are apparently not the best of friends.

This is followed by a sometimes somewhat messy plot, with a good splash of flashbacks, which does not always remain 100% fascinating. For example, there is a card scene, which seems to last forever and still takes the momentum out of it.

The actors are good, lead actor Clark is a kind of cross between a young Clint Eastwood and Jeffrey Hunter.

In this typical "Revenge Spaghetti", the supporting roles of the villains are all jewels of strong casting: we see Conte (known for later Mafia roles), Salerno (Badidos and also the voice of Clint in the Italian versions of the Dollars Trilogy ) and Celi (Thunderball, Sandokan),

but it's Milian who steals the show in yet another insane role, this time as Albino, who goes wild with gold and blondes (guess how the hero sets him up).

Music was hit and miss: often extremely atmospheric, but also a few times almost jazz-like, which did not fit the images in question at all and took me out of the scenes in question.

Overall a nice and atmospheric, but nowhere really good film.

A big six, or three stars.
