Der Transport plot

March 1945. Insignificant reserve lieutenant Felix Bleck is ordered to take 40 prisoners to the Western Front to be killed by a penal battalion. Along the way, he discovers that his assignment is inhumane and meaningless and decides to hand over the prisoners to the Americans. However, the train in which the prisoners are transported is being chased by the Gestapo.
