Amaryllis Campos is a young, talented ballerina who leaves her shabby home in Puerto Rico to try her luck in New York. There she ends up in a strip club where, due to her sensual movements, she quickly becomes the most wanted stripper. Amaryllis falls in love with Christian, one of her best clients. The love is mutual and Christian wants to take Amaryllis abroad to build a new life together. But then Amaryllis wins an audition for a Broadway production and is faced with an impossible choice: go abroad with her true love or pursue her dream and become a star.
