"He Took By Force... what he could have had for love!"

The story is set in the period when the pirates attacked the rich cities on the coasts of Italy and Spain and used their deadly swords against noblemen and their guards. Dragut, the pirate, assaults Rodi. He steals valuable documents from him and kidnaps the governor's daughter. The governor then releases a reputed swordsman from prison and sends him to the pirates with orders to return both the documents and his daughter. Drago fulfills his assignment but falls in love with the girl.

15 years ago, these kinds of films were sometimes shown on the German channel, but that time is also over.

Now you always get the same offer on TV and you rarely find these kinds of films on Netflix, TV theek or other channels. People always prefer the same films and the past hardly gets a chance. Unfortunately.

The film is a typical romantic adventure film with lots of lavish kitschy sets and costumes. The cast also knows how to give the film some strength: Lex Barker as the pirate, Roberto Diego as the captain, Graziella Granata as Bianca, the daughter of the governor and last but not least the imposing appearance of Chelo Alonso as Princess Miriam. What is striking is the camera work that portrays certain scenes too far away. Doesn't exceed the average movie, but it's fun to watch. 6/10
