Gadkie Lebedi plot
Victor Banev, a Russian writer living in the United States, searches for his daughter in Tashlinsk, an isolated ghost town subject to extreme climate change - subject of endless debate and UN committees. After a journey through a burning forest in Poland, Victor arrives at the home of Dr. Pilman, after seeing this house in a dream. Upon arrival in Tashlinsk, he must pass through passport control and an iris scan before entering the flooded city. The city turns out to be a world of scientific, political and military indecision. He tracks his daughter to a sort of boarding school for gifted children, run by mysterious mutants known as "mokretsy." When a conflict erupts between the government and the outcasts, Victor decides to save his daughter. He gets help from the enigmatic Diana.
