Morgenrot plot
Captain-Lieutenant Helmut Liers is commander of a submarine. Two of his brothers have already died in the war, so that after a period of leave ashore, his mother can hardly let him go. During the ensuing mission, Liers manages to sink a British cruiser, but on the way back to port his submarine gets stuck in a safety net and sinks to the bottom. Except for the bridge, the submarine is full of water and the chance of survival is getting smaller and smaller.
