Ju-yon-sai plot

Ryo is a young teacher who, unlike her colleagues, does not adopt an authoritarian attitude towards the adolescents she cares for. She doesn't realize at first that she's taking a risk with this. The fourteen-year-olds feel especially misunderstood by the adults who numbly nip their young ambitions in the bud. As their frustration grows, the adolescents turn into secret and tough youngsters.
