In 1924, Albert Londres, a famous journalist, pays a visit to the working detention camp in French Guiana. Initially, the authorities claim to know no secrets. Londres, however, encounters inhumane conditions. He meets Claudia Desfeuilles, who tries to free her husband and decides to help her.
