Don't think it much.

Series continues to slide. The nice, fresh atmosphere from the first film is not really there anymore. Especially unfortunate are the increasingly mutating beasts. Tremors always remain those orange blubber worms underground for me, not the rather stupid mutations made up in the following parts.

It's still funnier than it is exciting, and now and then there are some funny moments, but I was a bit disappointed. Only part 4 to go, and I think it's positive that it's a prequel. Back to basics seems appropriate for this series.

1.5*, occasionally entertaining, but nothing more than that. A lot of "Tremors" is no longer there either.

Better than the second part but has to be inferior to the original. The CGI is pretty bad at times, but luckily the movie doesn't take itself too seriously.

The third part.

The first part remains the best part of the first three in any case, but that was also to be expected from a series that does not take itself seriously and therefore falls further and further into silly concepts. Sometimes it can work, but the clearly cheaper and easier approach of this series is not advantageous.

Still, the concept in which large worm to small animal to flying threat evaluates can be called funny, and also well-found. However, for creatures that have existed for so long, it is special that these mutations are only now showing up, but in the context of the end result and story it makes little difference. At least not for me.

The approach of the film remains somewhat the same as the second part. The nicest scenes come from the Graboids themselves and that is why such a park is also liked for Graboids. Unfortunately, in this case you only see them rising above the ground and not moving or exploding, and therefore have a bit less charm. The animated mutations look pretty bad.

The camera work is nice and busy, but the film itself still looks a bit bare, and the tension is lacking at a lot of moments. The film is much for comedy, but also regularly for suspense, and such an out of hand amusement park for those animals is ideal. Unfortunately this is not the case here, it still remains somewhat reserved and too good.

Cinematographic talent is missing and also a little sense of humor that the first part had very well. It also all takes a bit too long and Gross's character has not become much nicer. There are still funny moments in between, but as a whole the film remains a bit too easy and sometimes downright tough. Another step back in the series.
