Anabelle is a local beauty who is dragged from one beauty pageant to another by her overly ambitious mother. All decisions are made for her and all she has to take care of is that she plays her part well. Elvis works unlicensed as a funeral director in his eccentric father's business. Because he feels it is his duty to take care of his family and his struggling father, he is prevented from following his dreams. Nothing would have ever brought them together, but their worlds collide when Anabelle dies a tragic death, ending up on Elvis's embalming table. Elvis miraculously brings her back to life with an innocent kiss, and the news of her miraculous rescue is driving the media frantic. Because of all the effort her mother goes to to focus the spotlights on Anabelle, she wants a break. She thinks there is only one place where she can truly find peace: Elvis' father's morgue.
