Bonneville plot
When her husband suddenly dies while on vacation, Arville returns home to cremate his body. At that moment, however, she is approached by their estranged daughter Francine, who points to a will written years earlier stating that she is entitled to her father's ashes. Arville believes the will is outdated, but cannot find a more recent version. Francine's will also says she will get the house Arville and Joe lived in, but she's willing to waive that demand if Arville brings the ashes within a week. Arville then decides to take a car trip with her two best friends from their village in Idaho to Santa Barbara, California, to give the ashes to Francine.
