The acting level is variable, sometimes below par.

Some scenes have a high low-budget content.

The story itself is not innovative.

But... the film remained mysterious and therefore interesting.

In some scenes you really felt that subcutaneous tension.

Conclusion: not good enough, but still curious about part two. *2.0

Still a reasonably successful drama / horror, thought it was strong when the vampire thing came into play. Not exactly my favorite thing but with this everyday focus it's a nice change. Francis' personal problems give the film an extra edge and Lenny provides the most fresh wind.

The only drawback is the acting (that girl.. and for example the scene with the police and David was completely out of the picture), audiovisually it is not very memorable and it remains a tad too well-behaved; should have been sharper. But this film doesn't deserve a low 2.30.

The score is a bit low, but it could have been a bit more. Above all, it's all pretty decent and I found the role of Francis quite disturbing. The final twist explains it completely, but his squeaking stopped me at one point.

Visually, the film is quite ugly with jerky camera movements to amplify chaos. Looked very amateurish. The strange atmosphere that surrounds the family benefits the film, which is mainly due to the raised twins. The rest of the cast just didn't interest me. In fact, the female victim in purple was extremely annoying.

Here and there a crazy scene, although it could have been a bit more bloody. The twist at the end is nice, although it was hinted at several times. The film is worth watching, but it doesn't reach its potential.
