Jungle Rudy plot
Jungle Rudy (1928-1994) was actually called Rudolf Truffino, son of a wealthy banker from The Hague of Italian descent. Of course he would follow in his father's footsteps, but Rudolf decided otherwise. Shortly after the Second World War, he left for Venezuela. For months he wandered through the jungle, only to be found half-dead by Indians. They patched it up, showed him the Santa Angel - the highest waterfall in the world - and awakened his business instincts. In the middle of the jungle, Rudy built a chic resort, frequented by princes and empresses before it slipped to a more dubious level. Tourists, wife Gerti and their children, in the end Rudy couldn't get along with anyone. Smits went there and delved deep into this story on the basis of a box full of memories.
