Several years ago, Martin Brady fled to Mexico for killing his father's killer. Martin now works as a 'bodyguard' for Mexican governor Cipriano Castro. At the request of his brother General Marcos Castro, Martin travels to Texas for an illegal arms deal. Once in a Texas town, his horse is startled by a 'tumbleweed' (The loosened, withered part of a plant) and both fall, whereby Martin breaks a leg. Meanwhile, Martin's weapons transport is stolen. Things get complicated for Martin when he receives an offer from Captain Rucker to join his Texas Rangers and the voluptuous army captain's wife Helen Colton has fallen in love with him. After having to kill a man who first killed his friend Ludwig "Chico" Sterner in self-defense, Martin has to flee back to Mexico. There, however, Martin is confronted by the very angry Castro brothers because of the stolen weapons shipment.
