Helmut Berger, once a very attractive movie star and lover of Visconti, is now 71. In his dilapidated apartment he curses and rants, while the maid hangs out the dirty laundry of his sad existence. We see a former sex symbol and figurehead of European alternative cinema, now a paragon of past glory, with his glamor photos of yesteryear on the walls of his apartment. Who is the movie star when time and old age take possession of his face? Is he still master of his own appearance?
