Forever plot
Under the ground of one of the world's most beautiful cemeteries - the famous Parisian Père-Lachaise - an impressive group of artists from various corners and eras lies side by side. Some - such as Piaf, Proust and Chopin - are still worshiped many years after their deaths. Others seem almost forgotten, or are only visited by a single enthusiast. Fighting against the oblivion and capriciousness of historiography, they live on in the admiration of the living. The film shows the mysterious beauty, tranquility and comfort of this special cemetery through the eyes of people of flesh and blood. Many come mainly for their 'own' dead: husband, wife, father or son. Other visitors leave a note for 'their beloved artist', scratched words on a stone, or a flower. And some admirers talk about the importance of art and beauty in their lives.
