Six years after he left the army, Lt. Colonel Robert "Dutch" Holland (Stewart), who has become a promising baseball player, is called back to arms. His wife Sally (Allyson) is anything but thrilled at the prospect of her husband flying again, and a promotion to colonel can't help her either. 'Dutch' himself doesn't like it either. He thinks he is too old. He hasn't followed the technical developments, and now he should be testing the latest jets.
