I made it past the halfway point, but I couldn't take it anymore.

What a terribly boring movie.

It all took a long time, I didn't like the characters, and it wasn't exciting either.

The atmosphere was perhaps okay, but it could not make up for these many negative points.

The atmosphere alone makes it a great film for me + the totally different and surprising characters, great photography!

Nice French-Canadian video.

It should be the sixties or seventies I believe. Flaubert, a journalist is sent to a desolate village. Very quickly we are introduced to the typical elements. A dilapidated gas station, visions that only he can see, a village with all crazy suspicious inhabitants and the fact that his companion is missing.

The coincidence looks very creative and entertaining and you are regularly woven into absurd situations. The stereotypical routines are also present here (for example those two quiff boys; one of whom is the son of a psychotic mayor) but also the run-up to an increasingly unthinkable situation. Namely some experiment in an old factory in which we are very much heading in the Cronenberg direction.

The film is neatly made. Appropriate colors and filter use, impressive locations, twisted people, absurd and gruesome situations but also enough black comedy scenes. This ensures that the 115 minutes are easy to watch.

A nice little film that seems to be quickly forgotten.
