With Slumber Party Massacre II, Deborah Brock delivered a film that was best characterized by ... yes, by what exactly? It was more of a mix between part 1 of the franchise, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Grease, all in a delicious MTV sauce. It wasn't good, but it was creative enough for an entertaining and smooth TV evening.

Andy Colby's Incredible Adventure has similarities with SPM2 in that respect: it is again a mix of everything and something, this time with a Nickelodeon sauce and a touch of School TV.

Andy rents a magical video tape from the interim video store owner, puts his sister in front of the TV, is distracted for a moment, and sister disappears in the TV (Poltergeist). There she falls into the hands of Lord Chroma (Labyrinth) and is taken to his palace/castle/circus tent. There he wants something with her, something with her eyes?, or the color of her eyes?, or something else with color? I don't know, but Andy has to go after it.

What follows is a not-so-incredible but difficult to follow adventure that goes in all directions in terms of visuals and effects. That's fun sometimes because it looks like things I made on the computer in 1995, with Paint. Those images are then interspersed with very slick shots. It later turned out that these were fragments of Roger Corman films and that this film should give the necessary Star Wars, Indiana Jones and related adventure film vibes. So half of this film consists of images from other films.

In all likelihood, you've never seen a film by this director before. Besides John Franklin, Isaac from Children of the Corn, don't you know any of the actors. You will never see this movie. And I will soon forget this one.
