The Iron Mistress plot
"JIM BOWIE...a man with his name on a knife - and a woman with a weapon all her own!"
Jim Bowie (Alan Ladd) comes to New Orleans to start a lumber yard. He falls in love with Judalon de Bornay (Virginia Mayo), who encourages him to become rich and influential. If she doesn't think Bowie is successful enough and doesn't move up the political ladder fast enough, she leaves him and marries Phillipe de Cabanal.
