Vendredi ou un Autre Jour plot

In the 18th century, a celebrated actor of the Parisian Comédie Française is stranded after a shipwreck on an uninhabited island. Fortunately, his faithful dog was also rescued, as well as much of the luggage. He stores the available provisions in a cave, which he further dresses up with theater paraphernalia such as costumes and wigs. Because of the loneliness and the emptiness that grips him, he slowly loses his grip on reality. But then he is joined in the form of a native islander he calls Friday.
