A Parisian suburb known as "La petite Jérusalem" where a large group of Jews have settled. Laura is 18 and lives in a conflict between her religious upbringing and her study of philosophy, which fascinates her immensely and offers her a different view of the world. While her sister Mathilde tries to revive her marriage, Laura discovers the first love emotions. This completely confuses her and puts all her certainties on the line.
