The monster truck action is fine. The surrounding family dramas are a bit weaker. American Ned Beatty and his five sons (from different mothers) are ranting and raving, and when casualties start occurring, our protagonist takes revenge with a monster truck tank he built himself, topped with a large drill on the front. A solid pass for the truck, but the rest is weak.

The Doyle family are just an annoying bunch of characters; the worst part is that as bad guys they are not to be taken seriously at all, and that in itself is the death blow for a genre like the revenge film.
Serious scenes are also interspersed with weak and weird action scenes, and in those scenes the film makes quite a fool of itself.
