Ramrod plot
"Men are so Easy!... A Little Lace, a Pair of Lips, a Touch, and they Kill for you!"
In a herd against rancher feud, Connie Dickason (Veronica Lake) loses her fiancé, but manages to keep her ranch. She is determined to run the ranch on her own, much to the dismay of Frank Ivey, who virtually owns the entire valley. Ivey is also the man to whom her father wanted to marry her off. Connie hires some men with Dave Nash (Joel McCrea) as the foreman. Ivey fights back with violence and destruction, but Dave only wants to thwart him legally, something his helpers don't like.

Nice psychological western with Veronica Lake in an unusual role, but one that suits her as the manipulative spider in the web. Not very special, but the film looks quite nice. Arleen Whelan is an absolute beauty, who unfortunately appears in far too few films.
