Late 19th century: Biff Grimes leads a simple life as a dentist, supported by his wife Amy. When a band on the street plays 'And The Band Played On' at the request of its neighbors, it quickly gets on Biff's nerves. The song brings back memories of his love for the ruddy blonde Virginia, a beauty all the young men in the neighborhood had a crush on years ago.
