Nichts Passiert plot

Thomas is determined to take his family on a skiing holiday, even though his wife Martina doesn't really have the time and their daughter Jenny doesn't feel like it. The good-humoured Thomas nevertheless books a holiday in the Swiss Alps. Sarah, the daughter of Thomas' boss, also goes along, simply because she can't stand conflict and can't say 'no'. But once they arrive, the two teenagers promptly argue with the local village youth.

Film about a whether or not alleged rape and other problems (film is certainly not always clear about the outcome and is disappointed in the end) but the most special role belongs to Devid Striesow (what an excellent cast ) in the role of the good-natured man who gets into trouble largely precisely because of that and other weaknesses.
Almost thought it was very good and it was both funny and pitiful to see the main character struggle to wriggle out of his worries, but as I said, the ending was disappointing.

A black humorous drama about a man who shuns conflict and therefore finds himself in a difficult position. A skiing holiday with his family does not seem to be fun at all due to his conflict-avoiding behavior. His evasive maneuvers create a web of lies and half-hearted subterfuge, which get on everyone's nerves and do not serve the atmosphere.

The protagonist is not sympathetic. It is interesting to a certain extent. A wrong decision, lack of courage and a faltering communication turn an unpleasant situation into a bomb that must of course explode. The winding road to it is fun to follow at first.

Somewhere halfway through the film, the twists and turns in the story become increasingly implausible and work rather far-fetched. The natural and charming aspect of the story disappears with that. The subtlety is gone. The humor less funny. The story less gripping. And so Nichts Passiert is a film with a nice story and strong acting, but also a film that seeks the magnifying staircase and thus sacrifices subtle blackness, sacrifices an interesting protagonist and sacrifices originality.
