I also thought it was a particularly mediocre film. The concept is pretty funny, but the content wasn't really anything to write home about. Overall, it gets a 2.0.

It's actually over before you know it. A rather meandering puppet film; according to the familiar recipe. But Pinocchio's Revenge does have a pleasant extra layer: is the puppet even alive? In that respect, it's quite a serious version, but that keeps it under wraps until the end... and then your patience is tested. Someone on IMDB described it as a mix between Child's Play (duh) and Pin. I can agree with that. It's not among Tenney's more enjoyable work, but even then it's entertaining enough.

A solid, imaginative horror film that keeps the viewer in suspense for a long time about whether the doll will come to life or not. That's the film's strength, because even at the end, the viewer is still in doubt, but one scene makes it clear that it's mainly in the minds of both mother and daughter and is determined by the doll for one reason or another. This mystery remains vague, although the opening scene makes it clear that if the doll has a connection to the child's soul, it's a lost cause. That's why the boy's father wants to bury his son with the doll at the beginning of the film. It doesn't get truly scary, but the story is well-built with attention to the main characters, who are excellently played by mother and daughter (Rosalind Allen and Brittany Alyse Smith). Candace McKenzie plays the Italian au pair and provides a fun nude scene in the shower with Pinocchio keeping an eye on her. 6.5/10
