Heimat 3 - Chronik einer Zeitenwende plot
The story of dreams of East and West Germans, of encounters and embraces by strangers, of profound historical changes. Of the incredible movement that started in the people themselves. East Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden, but again Schabbach, an idyllic Hunsrück village on the Rhine. A mythically charged environment where the artist couple Hermann Simon (Henry Arnold) and Clarissa Lichtblau (Salome Kammer) also entered a new phase of life in their love nest, the Gunderode house. The Hunsrück where, after the Wende, the American military bases no longer played a role, the American families left and their houses were taken by Russian Germans from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan or Siberia who, together with East German construction workers, determined the street scene in search of a better future. Schabbach, a village where many paths of life crossed.
