Kôshônin plot
Three masked men rob a shop, but less than half an hour later the police are already on their trail. The gangsters flee into a hospital and take more than thirty patients and doctors hostage. Seeing no way to convince the mobsters to surrender, the police enlist Maiko Tohno, a professional negotiator. Unfortunately, she has to work under the supervision of Inspector Ishida, her former husband with whom she does not get on very well.
