"Is this the girl next door?"
Bruce Templeton (Rod Taylor) is an inventor of novelties and head of a research lab. He becomes interested in the clumsy but attractive publicity worker Jennifer Nelson (Doris Day), whom he drags along as a biographer. Due to a secret project, a spy is nearby and a guard thinks she is, something more and more people are beginning to believe. Meanwhile, a romance develops between Bruce and Jennifer.
