Old-fashioned and sometimes very poorly filmed, such as the last 2-3 minutes. I expected more from the climax. Pagan ritual murders centered around a resurrected demon haunt a small village in the Dark Ages. The village is beautifully rendered and for a horror film from 1971, the film does not stop there. There is enough action to keep you entertained. The music is also quite memorable. This would work as a GSM tune. I found the story quite weak and the acting very theatrical and cheap. Good for one time. Advantages : the atmosphere of the middle ages, a good tempo and the musical accompaniment. Negatives: the rest.

In terms of atmosphere and setting great, but in terms of horror and story very weak. The story jumps from one subject to another and as a viewer you don't get in touch with the different characters. In terms of horror elements, the film is quite tame. The tension is missing, which you cannot say about the naked ladies present. 5/10

This movie was last seen on 4K Bluray. To be honest, I had never heard of this movie before, but I saw it on Amazon as a recommendation and the cover caught my eye. After reading the plot summary, I decided to take a chance and buy this movie.

And then you sometimes run the chance that you make a bad buy and I can say that with this film. The film itself does not start wrong, but it never wants to get really exciting. There isn't much of a threat from the diabolical presence in this film and the climax is disappointing to say the least. Then you spend an entire movie depicting the resurrection of Satan in a great way and then this demon is eliminated by a judge with a sword within seconds.

The acting of the young cast in particular is quite nice and the then 17-year-old Linda Hayden with her bright blue eyes and angelic face was a successful choice for the possessed Angel.

As for the 4K transfer, I've also seen better movies. It also doesn't help that just before that I had seen the horror movie The Shiver of the Vampires on 4K, which looked a lot nicer with a much more vibrant color palette. Both films date from 1971 and can be seen as real B-movies. But there was a lot more creativity The Shiver of the Vampires than with The Blood on Satan's Claw, which really turned out to be a straightforward horror film without too many surprises.
