Hidden Agenda plot

David McLean arrives in Berlin as an unsuspecting American tourist, where he discovers that his brother has been murdered under mysterious circumstances. Detective Ulrich Steiner investigates the case, but David conducts his own investigation in the meantime. The situation becomes perilous when he finds himself caught between the CIA, led by Section Chief Jonathan Zanuck, and the East German secret service, the STASI. Everywhere David appears, people appear desperately trying to get their hands on a diskette with the names of STASI agents and informants on it. In this chaos, he has to deal with a young German woman, Monica Engelmann, who will do anything to convince David to give her the diskette.
