Rabid Coll.

The first "real" film Gene Hackman appeared in. Well, his role consists of being on screen for about ten seconds and giving a small, condescending nod—if you're not paying attention, you'll miss it. He has no lines, and that didn't even earn him a title role. Perhaps more interesting is Telly Savalas, even before Kojak, but already perfectly in that role—despite the fact that he still has a few hairs on his shiny scalp. There are also some nice opening shots—pseudosolarization, as it's called. I've played in them myself back in the day. And of course, the beautiful ladies Doubleday and Hayward—and their eyes look so beautiful and expressive in black and white.

All of it hardly worth the effort, if I'm being completely honest. The fact that a remake even happened is a huge honor—not that it's a bad film, but there are so many that are more interesting, or better, or both.
