Henri Serin is a seller of umbrellas. He has sex with several women he meets during his travels and paints their portraits. His only friend is a priest who has long conversations with him in a local cafe. Henri does not think about tomorrow and lives "la vie d'artiste". Life is beautiful and sex is life.
