A bit of a shock at the first images of Michèle Morgan. Don't worry, the synopsis reveals what's about to happen.

Lawyer Cayatte presents here a family drama in which a married woman, content and obedient, but not really happy, can and does step out of the dullness of her life through an intervention, while the man loses his dominance and his greedy possession of sees his wife slip out of his hands and does not digest it.

Cayatte can be grateful to his two leading performers. Michèle Morgan, impeccable in her double role and Bourvil also very deserving.

I'm a big fan of that man, but the downside is that in the serious moments in the movie, it's hard to separate him from the great comedian that he is. His voice, the intonation in that voice, often reminds me of his many irresistibly funny scenes and sayings.

Not a great film, this "Miroir à deux Faces", actually somewhat absurd, but still with a realistic view of how a turnaround in the relationship between the partners can end badly.

A fairly successful mix of tragicomedy and crime. It is a film with a respectable age, so it can be guessed that the underlying social vision is no longer of this (Western) time. Bourvil's ideal of his wife at the hearth is really 1950s. A good screenplay and good acting. Bourvil steals the show with the way he portrays and evolves his character. Drama suits him.
