Mors Elling plot
Elling (Per Christian Ellefsen) has lived with his mother (Grete Nordrå) all his life. He has no need to go out and meet other people and his life consists of observing the neighbors with his binoculars. That is why he is not very enthusiastic when his mother decides to go on holiday to Palma de Mallorca. But nevertheless he goes along anyway, because he thinks that 'a woman at her age needs a stable man by her side'. Elling does not realize that his mother is not only old, but also seriously ill. She wants to make this last trip to show Elling that life is bigger than their apartment.
